Self-Employed Music Tutors in Belfast – Piano, Singing, Guitar, Strings, Woodwind, Brass & Drums

Enact Music is expanding its self-employed music tutor agency/register in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and is inviting applications from experienced and enthusiastic private music tutors.

We are currently seeking self-employed tutors for piano, singing, violin, cello, guitar, saxophone, clarinet, flute, brass instruments and drums.

This opportunity may suit piano teachers, singing teachers, violin teachers, cello teachers, guitar teachers, saxophone teachers, clarinet teachers, flute teachers, brass teachers and drum teachers who are looking to provide private music tuition to students in Belfast.

This is a self-employed tutor opportunity. Tutors accepted onto the Enact Music register are independent providers of private tuition and are responsible for delivering lessons to their own students in a professional, safe and engaging manner.

Enact Music acts as an introduction and administration agency. Its role is to introduce suitable students to tutors and support the matching and administration process.

Tutors must have the legal right to live and work in the UK and will be required to complete an appropriate AccessNI Enhanced Check before providing tuition through introductions made by Enact Music.

Location

Student introductions may be available in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Tutors should be able and willing to travel to BT8 and surrounding areas for in-person lessons.

Availability

We are particularly interested in tutors who can offer availability on weekdays between 3:00 pm and 8:00 pm and/or on Saturdays from 10:00 am onwards.

Tutors may indicate the days and times they are available. Student introductions depend on tutor availability, student demand and suitability. Tutors are free to accept or decline student introductions.

Tutor Lesson Fees

Tutors accepted onto the Enact Music register are independent providers of private tuition. Each tutor sets and approves their own lesson fees and confirms their listed fees to Enact Music so that Enact Music can communicate them to students or parents/guardians as part of its introduction and administration service.

To help tutors and families understand typical private tuition rates, Enact Music provides the following suggested tutor lesson fee guide:

£26 per hour – beginner level up to Grade 5
£31 per hour – Grades 6 to 8
£40 per hour – above Grade 8

These figures are suggested private tuition fee bands only. They are not pay rates, wages or guaranteed earnings. Each tutor confirms their applicable listed lesson fees with Enact Music before those fees are communicated to students or parents/guardians.

Students or parents/guardians accept the applicable tutor lesson fee before lessons are arranged.

The figures above refer to the tutor’s lesson fee only and do not include any separate agency or administration fee payable by the student or parent/guardian to Enact Music. Any separate agency or administration fee payable to Enact Music will be clearly explained before lessons are arranged.

Actual earnings depend on student demand, tutor availability, accepted introductions, student level, confirmed lesson fees and the number of lessons provided. No work, income, student introductions, lesson bookings, teaching hours or minimum number of students are guaranteed.

Checks, Safeguarding and Training

Tutors are responsible for obtaining and maintaining any required safeguarding checks, safeguarding training and professional training needed to provide tuition safely and lawfully.

Enact Music may suggest suitable providers or training options to help tutors meet these requirements. Where Enact Music arranges or pays for any required check or training on a tutor’s behalf, any reimbursement or cost recovery arrangements will be clearly explained in advance and set out in the tutor agency agreement.

Tutors must comply with any insurance, safeguarding and risk-management requirements set out in the tutor agency agreement.

Independent tutors introduced through Enact Music are expected to:

  • Provide high-quality private music tuition suited to each student’s needs, goals and level.
