Full job description

Using Your Clinical Experience In A Different Way
Functional Assessor | Hybrid Working (2 days from home/3 days in the Assessment Centre)

Looking to step away from shifts while still using your clinical expertise? This role offers stability, development and work–life balance.

If you’ve applied recently, your application is already under review so there’s no need to reapply.

About the Role

As a Functional Assessor with Ingeus, you’ll assess how health conditions affect daily living through telephone, video and in-person assessments.

You’ll:

  • Review clinical evidence
  • Carry out structured assessments
  • Use focused questioning to gather accurate information
  • Produce clear, objective reports

No hands-on care. No shift work.

About You

You’re a registered clinician who:

  • Communicates clearly and objectively
  • Is comfortable using computers and producing detailed written reports
  • Values structure and consistency

If your experience has been focused on a single speciality or limited patient group, this role is unlikely to be the right fit.

Essential Requirements

  • NMC or HCPC registration
  • At least 12 months’ recent UK post-registration experience practicing in the UK for the past 12 months.
  • Broad clinical exposure across a range of adult conditions
  • Strong clinical reasoning and written communication skills

This role is best suited to clinicians who have worked with varied patient groups and conditions, rather than a narrow or highly specialised caseload.

What You’ll Get

  • Salary + up to 10% annual bonus, paid quarterly
  • Starting salary - £46,813. Salary at 12 months - £48,813 + potential to earn an additional £2000 local bonus for this site.
  • Further salary uplifts aligned to new skills & development will continue to apply from year 2.
  • £2,000 referral bonus
  • Hybrid working
  • 25 days leave + BH
  • CPD + registration fees covered
  • Private pension & PMI

Why Ingeus?

  • Structured training and ongoing support
  • Clear progression pathways
  • Predictable hours and balanced workload

Ingeus is a Disability Confident Employer. We welcome neurodiverse colleagues and provide a clear, supportive, step-by-step recruitment process. If you require adjustments or alternative formats, our recruitment team will be happy to help.
