Shift Supervisor

Cocos Dining Experiences | Crystal Palace, London

At Cocos Dining Experiences, we bring a bold, modern Caribbean energy to the heart of Crystal Palace. Our menu blends vibrant Caribbean flavours with modern European influences, complemented by curated cocktails and warm, attentive service.

Set across two floors including a private dining and events space Cocos is fast becoming one of South London’s most exciting independent restaurants. We are now looking for a confident, experienced Restaurant Supervisor to help lead our front-of-house team and deliver unforgettable guest experiences.

About the Role

This is a hands-on leadership role at the heart of our service. As the Supervisor, you will take ownership of the floor during your shift leading briefings, setting the tone, maintaining standards, and ensuring every staff member is fulfilling their roles.

You will need to adapt quickly to our environment and quickly become a reliable point of call within the business. You will work closely with the General Manager and kitchen team to ensure seamless service, uphold operational systems, and support team development. You’ll also be confident stepping behind the bar when needed, with strong knowledge in cocktails/mixology, spirits, wines and ideally some coffee training.

If you thrive in a fast-paced, premium dining environment and take pride in leading from the front, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the front-of-house team during service
  • Conduct pre-shift briefings and communicate daily targets, menu updates and service notes
  • Greet and seat guests, ensuring a warm, polished and professional welcome
  • Oversee table allocations and optimise seating for efficiency and flow
  • Deliver exceptional service, including taking orders and making informed recommendations
  • Confidently step into bar service when required
  • Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and health & safety compliance
  • Handle guest enquiries, feedback and complaints with professionalism and care
  • Train and support team members in service standards and procedures
  • Collaborate closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth communication
  • Manage opening and closing procedures, ensuring all checklists are completed
  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation across the restaurant and equipment
  • Use the booking system backend to manage reservations and guest communications

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in hospitality
  • Previous supervisory or management experience in a restaurant setting
  • Strong understanding of food safety and operational standards
  • Confident bartender with knowledge of cocktails, spirits and wines
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Calm under pressure, organised and solution-focused
  • Strong attention to detail and guest experience
  • Comfortable using booking systems and handling reservations
  • A personable, charismatic presence on the floor

Schedule & Availability

  • Shifts between 5–12 hours
  • Day and evening shifts available
  • Late finishes (up to 12am–2am)
  • Weekend availability essential

What We Offer

  • Company pension
  • Staff meals during shifts
  • Employee & Family discount
  • Staff seasonal socials
  • Opportunity to grow within an ambitious, expanding independent restaurant
  • A supportive team environment where your leadership truly matters

If you are passionate about hospitality, take pride in high standards, and want to be part of an exciting independent restaurant building something special in South London apply now.

We’re looking for leaders, not just staff.
