Finance & Operations Manager

Location: North West London (Office Based – 5 Days Per Week)
Salary: £60,000 per annum (Depending on Experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, Full Time Office-Based

About the Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance & Operations Manager to join a growing international business operating across manufacturing, sustainability, retail, and global supply chain sectors.

This is a pivotal leadership role for a commercially minded professional who combines strong financial expertise with operational management experience. The successful candidate will oversee the finance function while driving operational efficiency, supporting strategic business decisions, improving processes, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of key business functions.

The position is fully office-based, and applicants must be able to commute comfortably to North West London.

Key Responsibilities

Finance Management

  • Manage the day-to-day finance function and oversee all accounting operations.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports, and board-level reporting packs.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning activities.
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting in line with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage year-end accounts preparation and coordinate external audits.
  • Oversee VAT returns, payroll processes, balance sheet reconciliations, and tax compliance.
  • Develop and maintain robust financial controls, policies, and risk management frameworks.
  • Analyse business performance and provide commercial recommendations to senior leadership.

Operations Management

  • Oversee key operational functions to ensure business efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Review and improve internal processes, systems, and workflows across departments.
  • Work closely with sales, procurement, logistics, production, and customer service teams to optimise performance.
  • Monitor operational KPIs and implement improvements to increase productivity and profitability.
  • Support inventory, supply chain, and operational planning where required.
  • Lead operational projects, process improvements, and business transformation initiatives.
  • Assist with resource planning and organisational development to support company growth.
  • Ensure operational compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

IT Systems & Business Platforms (Critical for Operations)

  • Oversee and support the use of core business systems including Zoho, SAP, and SQL-based reporting tools.
  • Ensure effective integration and utilisation of financial and operational systems across the business.
  • Use SAP for financial data management, reporting accuracy, and operational alignment across departments.
  • Leverage Zoho CRM/ERP tools to support sales tracking, customer management, workflow automation, and operational efficiency.
  • Utilise SQL reporting and data queries to extract, analyse, and interpret business performance data for decision-making.
  • Work closely with IT and system providers to improve automation, reporting accuracy, and system performance.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline manual processes through system improvements and digital transformation.
  • Ensure data integrity, system security, and consistent reporting standards across all platforms.

Leadership & Strategy

  • Partner with senior leadership to support strategic planning and business growth initiatives.
  • Provide financial and operational insight to support decision-making.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop finance and administrative team members.
  • Support investment decisions, commercial projects, and expansion plans.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Candidate Requirements

  • ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent fully qualified accountant.
  • Minimum 5–10 years' post-qualification experience.
  • Must have trained within an accountancy practice.
  • Previous audit experience is essential.
  • Proven experience within both finance and operational management roles.
  • Strong knowledge of management accounts, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance.
  • Experience overseeing operational processes and implementing business improvements.
  • Strong working knowledge of business systems including Zoho, SAP, and SQL reporting tools (or similar ERP/CRM systems).
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Excel and financial systems knowledge.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience within manufacturing, retail, supply chain, distribution, or international businesses would be highly advantageous.
