Who are we?

Newmedica is one of the leading providers of NHS ophthalmology services in England, delivering outpatient appointments, diagnostic testing and eye surgery to change lives through better sight and eye health.

We’re proud to have been certified as a Great Place to Work for the third year running and listed among the UK’s top 30 Best Workplaces™ for 2026 — recognition that reflects how colleagues feel about working here.

Our Purpose is to change lives through better sight and eye health, and our Vision is to end avoidable sight loss in every community we serve; we live our values every day — Commercial, Courageous, Compassion, Collaborative and Curious.

Role overview

Are you a driven sales professional who thrives on converting enquiries into customers and delivering exceptional client experiences?

Newmedica is seeking an ambitious Private Patient Consultant to join our growing team. This is a consultative sales role where you will guide potential patients through a once in a lifetime operation to ensure they know all the options that are available to them beyond the NHS.

We are not looking for a clinician.

We are looking for a natural relationship-builder, a confident closer and someone who is motivated by targets, commission and success.

This is a full-time role, working 40 hours per week across 5 days.

The Opportunity

Your role will be to build trust, understand their needs, educate them about treatment options and guide them through their journey from enquiry to booking.

You will become the key point of contact for your patients, creating an outstanding experience in every step of their pathway.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone from:

  • Luxury retail sales
  • Estate agency
  • Recruitment
  • Automotive sales
  • Financial services
  • Membership sales
  • Private healthcare sales
  • Travel sales
  • High-end hospitality
  • Telecommunications sales

What You'll Be Doing

  • Managing inbound enquiries from prospective patients.
  • Conducting face-to-face and virtual consultations.
  • Building rapport and understanding individual patient motivations.
  • Presenting treatment and procedure options confidently.
  • Following up enquiries and nurturing leads through the sales pipeline.
  • Converting consultations into confirmed bookings.
  • Working closely with surgeons, clinical teams and operational staff.
  • Providing exceptional customer service throughout the patient journey.
  • Maintaining accurate records and CRM activity.
  • Identifying opportunities to increase patient conversion and revenue.

What We're Looking For (Essential)

  • Proven track record in a sales, consultative sales or business development role.
  • Experience working to targets and KPIs.
  • Strong objection handling and closing skills.
  • Confident communicator both face-to-face and over the phone.
  • Highly motivated by achievement, performance and rewards.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills.
  • Professional presentation and personal credibility.

What Success Looks Like

Our best-performing consultants:

  • Build trust quickly.
  • Follow up every opportunity professionally.
  • Create exceptional customer experiences.
  • Take ownership of their performance.
  • Ongoing sales and product training.
  • Career progression opportunities within a growing private healthcare group.
  • Modern private hospital environment.
  • Supportive and ambitious leadership team.

Why Join Us?

This is more than an administration role.

This is an opportunity to join one of the UK's leading cosmetic surgery providers and build a substantial career in consultative sales. You'll be helping people improve their confidence and quality of life while developing your own earning potential and career progression.

If you're a high-performing sales professional looking for your next challenge, we'd love to hear from you.

What we’re offering

  • A salary of up to £35,000/annum depending on experience
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays plus 1 day birthday leave
  • A company pension scheme
  • Enhanced maternity leave
  • Access to a range of benefits including free eye tests, discounted or free glasses, death in service cover, free access to Headspace and blue light scheme
  • An environment where your learning and development is supported through a range of various learning tools and courses.
  • Working with a friendly multi-disciplinary team passionate about improving the lives of our patients
  • A bright, spacious and modern working environment, built to the highest standards
