Chef / Cook – Daytime Hours, Every Evening Off

The Food of Love | Stratford-upon-Avon, CV37 6QW£12.71–£20 per hour, depending on experienceFull-time or part-time | Permanent | 15–40 hours per week

The Food of Love is an independent, family-run café directly opposite Shakespeare’s Birthplace.

With refurbishment underway and a new menu being developed, we’re looking for a capable chef or cook to help shape what comes next. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute ideas, develop dishes and help improve how our kitchen runs.

From a well-cooked breakfast to a carefully prepared sandwich or crêpe, we care about serving good food, done properly.

What you’ll be doing

  • Preparing and cooking breakfasts, sandwiches, crêpes and café favourites.
  • Contributing ideas for new dishes and presentation.
  • Getting ingredients and your section ready before service.
  • Working alongside our Head Chef and team to keep orders moving.
  • Keeping portions, presentation and quality consistent.
  • Maintaining a clean, organised kitchen.
  • Following food hygiene and allergen procedures, rotating stock and reducing waste.

Who we’re looking for

You’ll have experience in a café, restaurant or similar kitchen, with around one year’s cooking experience preferred.

You’re reliable, organised and confident during a busy service. You care about the food you send out, communicate well and take responsibility for your work.

We welcome ambition and practical ideas, with opportunities to progress into supervisory or management roles for the right person.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.71-£20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15.0 – 40.0 per week
