Overview
We are seeking a highly organised Medical Secretary to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have experience of using EMIS, a good sound knowledge of medical terminology, and have worked as a Medical Secretary within the NHS.

You must be accurate, have good communication skills and be a team player.

The position available is part-time, approx. 15 hours per week. Shift times are negotiable

Responsibilities

  • Providing comprehensive secretarial support to clinicians
  • Managing patient referrals, and correspondence
  • Handling confidential patient information in line with data protection regulations
  • Liasing with patients, healthcare professionals, and external organisations
  • Maintaining accurate and up to date medical records
  • Process insurance reports, DVLA medical forms and subject access requests

Experience

  • Previous experience in a primary or health care setting is preferred
  • Experience of working in a secretarial role is essential
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills
