Reporting to: Chief Financial Officer

Hybrid: 3 days office / 2 days working from home

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 plus discretionary performance bonus

About the Role

DiamondAir is undertaking a significant finance transformation as part of the implementation of a new technology platform and the development of a scalable, insight-led finance function.

The Finance Systems & Reporting Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the integrity, structure and effectiveness of the finance systems and reporting environment. Acting as the bridge between Finance, Operations and Technology, the role will own financial reporting structures, chart of accounts governance, system optimisation, reporting automation and data quality, ensuring data integrity and effective integration between finance and operational systems.

This is a hands-on role for a qualified accountant who combines strong accounting fundamentals with a passion for systems, data and continuous improvement. The role will work across DiamondAir's finance operational and reporting systems, helping to create a connected and scalable technology environment that supports business growth.

DiamondAir International is the principal operating company within the Group and operates Sage 300 as its core finance system. Several smaller subsidiary entities, which are also within the remit of this role, utilise Sage 50.

The current operating and finance systems are only partially integrated, primarily across sales transactions. A new business platform is being implemented to create greater connectivity between operational and financial processes, including both revenue and cost of sales. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting this transformation and ensuring the integrity of the Group's financial data, reporting structures and system configuration.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the successful implementation of DiamondAir's new platform and the development of a scalable, insight-led finance function. Beyond implementation, they will own the evolution of the finance systems and reporting environment, ensuring it continues to support business growth, operational efficiency, management insight and future transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Finance Systems & Transformation

  • Play a key role in the implementation, testing, rollout, stabilisation and ongoing optimisation of DiamondAir’s new technology platform.
  • Act as the finance subject matter expert for Sage 300, finance system configuration, chart of accounts design, reporting structures and financial data requirements.
  • Support finance workstreams including system configuration, data validation, user acceptance testing (UAT), reporting development and post-go-live stabilisation.
  • Ensure financial data is accurately captured, validated and transferred between operational and finance systems, maintaining the integrity of revenue, cost of sales and financial reporting data.
  • Work with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure finance requirements are effectively translated into system solutions, integrations and efficient workflows.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual finance processes, strengthen controls and improve data quality, integrity and operational efficiency.
  • Support the development and maintenance of integrations between finance and operational systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement of finance systems, reporting capabilities and end to end finance processes following implementation.
  • Support future systems enhancements, reporting developments and wider finance transformation initiatives.

Chart of Accounts & Financial Data Governance

  • Own and maintain the Chart of Accounts structure.
  • Create, maintain and govern nominal ledger accounts, departments, cost centres and reporting dimensions.
  • Maintain mappings between nominal ledger accounts, management reporting structures and statutory financial statements.
  • Ensure reporting hierarchies remain accurate, scalable and aligned to business requirements.
  • Develop and maintain governance processes around financial master data.

Reporting & Business Intelligence

  • Develop reporting structures and solutions, including BI dashboards and analytical tools that support management reporting, profitability analysis, working capital monitoring, forecasting and business performance management.
  • Develop, maintain and continuously enhance Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions that provide meaningful operational and financial insight.
  • Work closely with the Finance team to ensure reporting outputs reconcile to management accounts and support month-end, forecasting and business performance processes.
  • Improve automation of reporting processes and reduce reliance on manual spreadsheet-based processes and reporting.
  • Work with stakeholders across the business to understand and deliver reporting requirements.
  • Develop reporting that supports operational performance, margin monitoring, customer profitability and working capital management.

Data Quality & Analytics Support

  • Ensure the integrity, consistency and accessibility of financial and operational data that underpins management reporting, business intelligence, forecasting and decision-making across the organisation.
  • Develop and maintain data models to support management reporting and financial analysis.
  • Provide robust data and reporting foundations to support FP&A, budgeting, forecasting and business partnering activities.
  • Support the finance team with ad-hoc analysis and reporting requests where required.

Controls & Audit Readiness

  • Embed financial controls within finance system workflows.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, process maps and reporting methodologies.
  • Support the development of audit trails and reporting controls.
  • Assist with audit readiness and compliance initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development of finance policies, procedures and governance frameworks.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
  • Strong grounding in accounting principles and financial reporting.

Desirable

  • Power BI certification or equivalent.
  • Finance systems, ERP or data analytics training.

Experience

Essential

  • Qualified accountant with a minimum of 2 years' relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Experience in a Systems Accountant, Reporting Accountant, Finance Systems or similar role.
  • Experience maintaining chart of accounts structures and financial reporting hierarchies.
  • Experience mapping nominal ledgers to management accounts and statutory financial statements.
  • Experience developing management reporting solutions.
  • Advanced Excel skills including Power Query, financial modelling and data analysis.
  • Experience working with finance systems and large financial datasets.

Desirable

  • Experience supporting ERP implementations or finance transformation projects.
  • Experience developing Power BI dashboards, reporting models or business intelligence solutions.
  • Experience within a growing or changing business environment.
  • Exposure to process automation and workflow technologies.
