Job Overview
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Decorator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing the aesthetic appeal of various spaces through colour schemes, finishes, and decorative techniques. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from residential to commercial environments, ensuring each space reflects the desired style and atmosphere. The ideal applicant will possess strong communication skills, a good understanding of construction painting, and the ability to operate a vehicle safely.

Duties

  • Applying paint, wallpaper, and other decorative finishes to walls, ceilings, and surfaces in accordance with client specifications.
  • Preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and priming to ensure optimal adhesion of decorative materials.
  • Interpreting design plans and colour schemes to execute decorating projects accurately.
  • Operating relevant tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Communicating effectively with clients and team members to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Managing time effectively to complete projects within designated deadlines.
  • Assisting with minor construction painting tasks when required.
  • Ensuring all work areas are kept clean and organised throughout the project duration.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in decorating, including construction painting and finishing techniques.
  • Valid driving licence with a clean driving record for transportation between sites.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Good understanding of colour coordination and design principles.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical fitness to handle manual tasks such as lifting materials and working at heights if necessary.
