Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Painter and Decorator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying paint, varnishes, and other finishes to various surfaces, ensuring high-quality workmanship in both residential and commercial settings. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for craftsmanship and attention to detail to contribute to a range of decorating projects. The ideal applicant will possess strong communication skills, a good understanding of construction painting techniques, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Duties

  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and priming before painting or decorating.
  • Apply paints, varnishes, wallpapers, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
  • Ensure all work is completed to specified standards and within agreed timeframes.
  • Assist with colour matching and selecting appropriate materials for each project.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by organising tools and disposing of waste responsibly.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding project progress and requirements.
  • Follow health and safety regulations at all times during the execution of decorating tasks.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in construction painting or decorating is preferred.
  • Valid driving licence is advantageous for travelling between sites.
  • Good command of English language, both spoken and written.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or as part of a team.
  • Organised approach to managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures relevant to painting and decorating activities.
