Overview

We are seeking a skilled Painter and Decorator to join our team, responsible for enhancing the aesthetic appeal and protection of various interior and exterior surfaces. This role involves working on diverse projects, from residential to commercial properties, ensuring high standards of craftsmanship and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction painting, possess excellent communication skills, and be capable of working independently or as part of a team. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation between sites. Duties

  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling cracks, and applying primers to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
  • Apply paints, varnishes, stains, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment with precision and care.
  • Decorate interior and exterior surfaces including walls, ceilings, woodwork, and fixtures in accordance with client specifications.
  • Mix paints and colours to achieve desired shades and consistency.
  • Protect surrounding areas by covering floors, furniture, and fixtures during painting activities.
  • Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and maintains a clean work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding project progress and any adjustments needed.
  • Assist in the organisation of materials and tools required for each project to optimise efficiency.

Skills

  • Proven experience in construction painting or related decorating roles is highly desirable.
  • Ability to operate various painting tools and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Good understanding of colour schemes, finishes, and surface preparation techniques.
  • Strong communication skills in English for clear interaction with clients and colleagues.
  • Valid driving licence is advantageous for travelling between multiple sites efficiently.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively across multiple projects.
  • Good physical fitness to undertake manual tasks including lifting materials and working at heights if necessary.
