The Painter is responsible for preparing and finishing deployable shelters and related components to precise quality standards. Key activities include surface preparation, application of body fillers, sanding, masking, and coating. The position also requires proficiency in mixing, blending, and matching coatings to meet specified colour and finish requirements.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary manufacturing team, the Painter ensures all work is carried out to the highest professional and technical standards while maintaining a strong focus on safety and continuous improvement.


Your key responsibilities in this role include:

  • Prepping, sanding, applying body filler, priming and painting shelters and component parts.
  • Must have the ability to mix, primer and paint, by weight and volume, in accordance with paint manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Prepare parts and shelters to time, cost and quality.
  • Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environment policies and procedures.
  • Work in accordance with Paint shop procedures (Housekeeping and good working practices).
  • Due to projected manufacturing demands, shift work and overtime may be required.
  • Clean and maintain spray equipment.
  • Apply undercoat to deployable shelters.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Technical skills/Education:

  • Proven experience in a professional paint spraying role.
  • Ability to use HVLP gravity spray guns, as well as pressure pot
Knowledge of sandblasting, desirable.
  • Able to work well within a team and follow training with minimal supervision.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow processes and instructions.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with other stakeholders.
  • Red Seal Painter preferred but not required. (Will consider equivalent of 5,400 hours of practical experience in an automotive painter occupation).
