Katie Corkill Decorating is a an award winning, small unique growing company that is now looking for experienced painters to join the team. Initially on a self-employed basis but with the potential of becoming permanently employed as the company expands.

A background in painting & decorating is essential for this position, but we're also looking for a well-rounded individual with a can-do attitude and good sense of humour! Someone who is conscientious, a natural problem solver, happy to take directions and/or manage their own jobs with little direction. We want a team player who doesn't mind their own company too!

The majority of our clients are women who may feel vulnerable within their own homes so therefore specifically ask for female decorators. We do also work with fantastic male decorators. Clients needs and requirements are at the heart of what we offer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Traditional painting of ceilings, walls, and woodwork including cutting-in
  • Full preparation including sanding, filling, caulking, taping etc
  • Removal and replacement of fixtures, fittings, and furnishings
  • Unloading/loading vehicles with tools and materials
  • Sourcing materials locally
  • Cleaning of kit and equipment plus daily cleaning and tidying of property

Experience/Knowledge:

Minimum 3 years experience in residential properties

Key Attributes/Skills:

  • High attention to detail
  • Conscientious and take pride in your work
  • Knowledge of paints, brands, materials, & products
  • Experience of using decorating tools, including dust free sanders/vac
  • A team player with excellent communication skills
  • Able to adapt and problem solve

  • Dedicated and hardworking

Key Requirements:

  • Public liability insurance (£1m)
  • Willing to travel across Bristol (max 1hr commute)
  • Own car and licence
  • Own tools - dust free sander/vac desirable
