Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Painter & Decorator/Handyman/woman to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in refurbishment painting and decorating, demonstrating attention to detail and a proactive approach to their daily work. This role involves performing a variety of painting, decorating, and repair duties to ensure our facilities are maintained to the highest standards of quality, safety, and aesthetics. The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team, contributing positively to our environment.

Duties

  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and priming prior to painting or decorating activities.
  • Apply paint, varnish, wallpaper, or other finishes with precision and care to achieve high-quality results.
  • Conduct general repairs and maintenance tasks around the property, including fixing fixtures, fittings, and minor structural issues.
  • Operate various tools and equipment safely and effectively while adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Assist with moving furniture, equipment, or materials as needed for decorating or repair projects.
  • Communicate clearly with team members and clients regarding project progress or specific requirements.
  • Drive company vehicles when necessary for transporting supplies or equipment to different sites.
  • Maintain an organized workspace, ensuring all tools and materials are stored properly after use.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in construction painting, decorating, or handyman roles within commercial or residential settings.
  • Strong knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation, and finishing processes.
  • Valid driving license with the ability to operate company vehicles safely.
  • Excellent communication skills in English to understand instructions and coordinate effectively with team members.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of health and safety protocols related to construction and maintenance work.
  • Prior experience working in a team environment with good interpersonal skills is preferred.
