Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Painter and Decorator to join our team to help with several contracts we have secured with a large nationwide franchise. You will be responsible for enhancing the appearance and protection of various interior and exterior surfaces. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent craftsmanship, and the ability to work efficiently within a construction environment. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to diverse projects, from residential refurbishments to commercial developments, ensuring high standards of quality and safety.

Duties

  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling, and masking to ensure a smooth finish.
  • Apply paints, varnishes, wallpapers, and other decorative finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
  • Interpret technical drawings and specifications to achieve desired aesthetic outcomes.
  • Assist with colour matching and selecting appropriate materials for each project.
  • Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area throughout each project.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding project progress or any issues encountered.
  • Operate relevant tools and equipment safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in construction painting or decorating roles is preferred.
  • Good understanding of colour schemes, textures, and decorating techniques.
  • Valid driving licence is advantageous for travelling between sites.
  • Strong communication skills in English to liaise effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail with a focus on delivering high-quality finishes.
  • Physical fitness to handle manual tasks such as lifting materials and working at heights if required.

The work will be on an as-needed basis rather than constant full time work so perfect for self-employed tradesmen look to fill the gaps. But there will be regular opportunities as projects come up across the UK.

There will occasions where staying away is required, with all travel & hotel accommodation paid for.

Pay: £27.50-£33.75 per hour

Expected hours: 8.0 – 40.0 per week
