Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Painter and Decorator to join our dynamic construction team. In this role ideally you will have a DBS check as this work is within a care home, you will be responsible for transforming spaces through expert painting and decorating techniques, ensuring high-quality finishes that meet project specifications. Your skills will help create visually appealing environments, whether for residential, commercial, or industrial projects. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your craftsmanship while contributing to diverse and rewarding projects.

Duties

  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling holes, and applying primers to ensure optimal paint adhesion
  • Apply paints, varnishes, wallpapers, and other decorative finishes with precision and care
  • Use a variety of tools including brushes, rollers and scaffolding to achieve desired effects
  • Collaborate with project managers and clients to understand design specifications and color schemes
  • Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of waste responsibly
  • Inspect completed work for quality assurance and make necessary touch-ups or corrections
  • Follow safety protocols consistently to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others

Requirements

  • Proven experience in construction painting and decorating techniques
  • Valid driving license to access various job sites efficiently
  • Strong communication skills in English to coordinate with team members and clients
  • Ability to interpret project plans and instructions accurately
  • Physical stamina to stand, climb ladders, and work at heights as needed
  • Knowledge of safety standards related to painting equipment and scaffolding
  • Nice-to-have skills include familiarity with different types of paints, wallpapers, and decorative finishes
