Full job description

ARRORA Ltd is looking for an experienced Painter & Decorator / Maintenance Operative to join our growing team.

The role will primarily involve carrying out high-quality painting and decorating works across residential and commercial properties. Alongside decorating, you will also be expected to carry out occasional minor maintenance and repair works while attending properties.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can work independently and is comfortable dealing directly with customers and clients.

Main duties

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Interior and exterior painting and decorating
  • Preparation of walls, ceilings and woodwork
  • Filling, sanding, caulking and making good
  • Painting walls, ceilings, doors, frames, skirting boards and other woodwork
  • Minor plaster and surface repairs
  • Wallpapering where required
  • Protecting floors, furniture and surrounding areas before starting work
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy working environment
  • Carrying out snagging and finishing works

You will also be expected to undertake straightforward maintenance tasks within your experience and competence, including:

  • Replacing taps and minor plumbing fittings
  • Replacing door handles, hinges, latches and locks
  • Adjusting doors
  • Replacing silicone and sealants
  • Minor carpentry repairs
  • Small tiling repairs
  • Fitting shelves, curtain poles and accessories
  • General property maintenance and repairs
  • Reporting any larger defects or additional works identified while on site

You will not be expected to undertake specialist electrical, plumbing or other works outside your level of competence.

About you

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous professional painting and decorating experience
  • Produces a high standard of finish
  • Has good preparation and finishing skills
  • Is comfortable undertaking minor property maintenance
  • Can work independently without constant supervision
  • Is reliable, organised and punctual
  • Takes pride in keeping customers' properties clean and tidy
  • Communicates professionally with customers, landlords and commercial clients
  • Is able to identify and report additional maintenance issues while on site
  • Holds a full UK driving licence

Experience working within rental properties, HMOs, commercial premises or property maintenance would be advantageous.
