Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Painter & Decorator to join our team at Cyril Jones Painting Contractors. We are a family run business specialising in high voltage substation painting. You will be required to be self employed for this role. Good rates of pay. Exact wages will be decided on Experience. Scope for higher pay if commitment and skills are up to a good standard . The job is Monday - Friday. Very occasional weekend work may be required. Working away in North Wales area may be required a few times a year depending on the work schedule. Must be from Bamber bridge/Preston area with abilty to drive to base.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces for painting. Sanding, scraping, wire brush etc
- Sheeting up with tarpaulins/dust sheets
- Maintenance of tools/van/painting equipment
- Painting will include interior and exterior offices/buildings. Rust protection on exterior steel work. Spraying. Oil based undercoat/gloss. Zinc phosphate/MIO finishes
Experience
- Proven experience in painting and decorating is essential.
- Must be able required to gain basic authorisation to have entry to high voltage substations.
- Random drugs and alcohol tests are carried out
- Strong communication skills in English are required to interact with clients and team members effectively.
- A valid driving licence required
- CSCS/safety passport is a plus
- Experience with PASMA or working with Elevated Work Platforms is a plus
- Experience using airless spray would also be a bonus
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team is beneficial.
