Painter and Decorator
Full Time 37.5 hours per week, all year round, with 30 minute Lunch
Working across sites at the group’s schools in Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and Reading.
Access to own Van, with the potential use of a company vehicle, once committed to the role.
There is an option to complete a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Painting and Decorating.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Working for Wishford Education Group (Wishford Schools) you will be making a difference and improving the facilities for our staff, children and parents.
Predominantly working in Wiltshire and Gloucestershire in wonderful settings within a friendly, supportive and motivated team environment.

SALARY
Full Time 37.5 hours per week, Mon – Fri 08:00 to 16:30
Annual Salary Range from £27,000 to £29,000 depending on experience and qualifications.

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- NVQ Level 2 and or 3 in painting and decorating
- Relevant experience and knowledge
- Clean driving licence.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Under the direction of the team manager, carry out inspections of minor works projects to determine the extent of painting and decoration work required and to agree the most cost effective and expedient means of completing the work to a high standard.
- Prepare, clean and fill surfaces using the appropriate method.
- Apply paint, lining paper, wallpaper or other specified materials, using the most appropriate equipment.
- To undertake plastering works as required.
- To carry out glazing repairs when required.
- To undertake general repairs or planned maintenance tasks as allocated by the team manager.
- To plan and organise the work, materials and equipment according to priorities, the size and complexity of the job, the need to minimise travel and other non-productive time.
- To keep the team manager aware of progress and problems in a timely manner.
- To ensure the area is left in a clean, tidy and safe state during and after completion of work.
- To work with regard to Health and Safety at all times wearing correct PPE when appropriate.
- To use power tools and machinery safely.
- To comply with the requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act and all relevant group policies.
- To mentor an apprentice painter and decorator.
