Initial CIS engagement with opportunity to move to permanent PAYE employment

Virtus Construction Limited is looking for an experienced Multi-Skilled Operative to join our growing team, working across Telford, Shrewsbury and the surrounding areas.

The role will initially be offered on a CIS subcontract basis at £200 per day, with regular ongoing work available.

For the right person, there will also be the opportunity to move into a permanent PAYE position as our workload and team continue to grow. Our PAYE package currently includes a competitive salary, company van, fuel card, pension and paid annual leave.

The Role

You'll be carrying out a varied programme of property maintenance, refurbishment and improvement works, predominantly within residential and social housing properties.

Works may include:

  • Kitchen and bathroom installations
  • Carpentry and joinery
  • Basic plumbing
  • Tiling
  • Patch plastering and making good
  • Flooring
  • Painting and decorating
  • General property repairs and maintenance
  • Void property works
  • Minor refurbishment works

We're looking for someone who is genuinely multi-skilled, can work independently and takes pride in completing work properly rather than simply getting through a job.

What We're Looking For

You'll need previous experience in a multi-trade, property maintenance or refurbishment role, with competence across several building trades.

Experience within social housing, responsive repairs, planned maintenance or void properties would be particularly useful.

You'll also need:

  • A professional and respectful approach when working in occupied homes
  • Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage your own workload
  • Good attention to detail
  • Reliable and professional approach
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Appropriate tools for your trade
