Full job description

North Residential Limited, based in Newcastle upon Tyne, require an experienced painter and decorator to join our maintenance team.

Experience of managing your own time is essential.

You must be able to work alone and be able to work as part of a team.

Full UK driving licence is essential.

Main duties to include but not limited to

  • Surface Preparation: Removing old paint/wallpaper, cleaning surfaces, filling cracks/holes, and applying primer.
  • Application: Applying paint, varnishes, stains, and protective coatings to walls, ceilings, and woodwork.
  • Wallpapering: Measuring, cutting, and hanging wall coverings, including fabric and decorative products.
  • Site Management: Setting up scaffolding/ladders, protecting furniture and fixtures with dust sheets, and maintaining a clean work area.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhering to Health & Safety, especially when working at height or with toxic materials.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Technical Skill: Proficiency with brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring a high-quality finish, free from flaws.
  • Communication: Interacting with clients and working well within a team.
  • Experience – Must have at least 3 years experience in painting and decorating.

  • Settings: Residential homes, commercial offices and buildings
  • Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Salary - depending on experience

Company van supplied.
