Job Summary

To maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene and housekeeping throughout the food supplement manufacturing facility. The Cleaner is responsible for ensuring production, warehouse and welfare areas are cleaned and sanitised in accordance with company procedures, food safety standards, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements, and hygiene regulations to prevent contamination and ensure a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine cleaning activities including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, sanitising and laundry tasks.
• Perform deep cleaning and detailed cleaning activities within production, warehouse and ancillary areas as scheduled.
• Follow all approved cleaning procedures, work instructions and sanitation schedules.
• Accurately complete cleaning records and documentation in accordance with company requirements.
• Ensure waste materials are correctly segregated and promptly disposed of in designated bins and waste areas.
• Follow instructions and work priorities assigned by the Manager or Supervisor
• Promptly report any circumstances that could lead to contamination of products, ingredients, equipment or production areas.
• Monitor stock levels of personal protective equipment (PPE), cleaning chemicals and consumable supplies, reporting shortages to the appropriate person for replenishment.
• Wear and maintain the appropriate PPE required for each task and work area.
• Ensure all required safety and warning signage is correctly displayed and visible while cleaning activities are being undertaken.
• Maintain high standards of personal hygiene in accordance with food manufacturing requirements.
• Assist with audits, inspections and hygiene checks when required.
• Ensure all cleaning equipment is maintained in a clean, safe and serviceable condition.
• Comply with all company policies relating to health and safety, food safety, quality assurance and environmental management.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will

• Have previous cleaning experience in a commercial, industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to follow written procedures and work instructions.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
• Ability to complete records and documentation accurately.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Awareness of health and safety practices.

Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, warehouse, or food supplement environment would be advantageous but is not essential, as full training will be provided

Pay: £12.71-£13.21 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
