We have an exciting opportunity for a Paramedic to join our Primary Care Nurse Team at HMP Dovegate, a category B Prison located in Uttoxeter in Staffordshire.

HMP Dovegate is a private prison with a capacity of 1160 males.
We are looking for a qualified Paramedic with at least 2 years' post-qualification experience. You must also have completed a Primary Care module and be confident working within a primary care setting. You will be based within the healthcare department and prison wing work will also be required.

Hours

  • Monday - Sunday service
  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Monday- Friday- 6:45am - 6.15pm
  • Saturday and Sunday - 07:45am - 18.15pm
  • Nights- 8:00pm - 7am

Salary

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary between £43,609 - £49,175 per annum depending on experience.

What you'll be doing

As a Paramedic, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Provide outstanding evidence based case to our patients seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them - focussing on emergency and unplanned care to patients with both primary care and acute care needs.
  • Daily shift co-ordination responsibilities
  • Deliver non-judgemental care, building therapeutic relationships and promoting professional boundaries.
  • Playing an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patient’s care following our policies, procedures and always considering safeguarding.

  • Qualified Paramedic
  • Current professional registration (HCPC)
  • Proven post-registration ambulance experience - 3 years post- qualified
  • Evidence of continued professional development

  • Proven experience in either: Accident & Emergency, Primary Care environments or Minor injuries / illness

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
