Full job description

Heaton Park attracts up to 2 million visitors annually with a host of attractions, activities and food and drink spots. Heaton Park Boat Hire plays a key role in the Park's offering, giving visitors the opportunity to create memories, choose between different types of hire craft and get close to nature on the Lake.

We are currently looking for a hard working, fun and personable individual to join us as the General Manager at Heaton Park Boats, Manchester.

We are busiest weekends and school holidays and we are ideally looking for individuals with working hour flexibility around dry weather and peak trading periods. Bask in the sun, energy of Heaton Park and sales opportunity on the good days and take some time back on the wet days.

We are looking for someone who will:

  • Lead, direct and motivate the team
  • Complete safety compliance checks and ensure safe operation of the boats.
  • Produce daily performance reports
  • General customer service: answering questions, providing warm and friendly support to our customers.
  • Providing assistance to customers getting in and out of the boats in a safe manner.
  • Processing payment for activities, either by cash or card.
  • Ensuring the cleanliness, maintenance and upkeep of the boats at all times.
  • Finalise daily performance results
  • Inspire the Boat Hire Crew to provide excellent service to our customers, drive social media engagement, optimise average transaction values and cross-promote offerings
  • Elevate operational professionalism and consistency through fleet and team presentation, engagement and availability

Health and Safety:

  • You will ensure the Health and Safety of visitors is a priority and your site complies with the required standards at all times.
  • Safeguarding yourself, colleagues, guests and visitors by enforcing a ‘safety first’ culture.
  • Ensuring that safety guidelines are in place at all times for customer boat hire

This is a job that involves predominantly outdoor working, we are looking for applicants ideally with experience working at high footfall attractions, destinations or leisure activity venues, who will enjoy the bustling environment and optimise the full potential of Lakeside, Heaton Park.
