Full job description

Bluerider ART is seeking a dynamic and personable Gallery Assistant to join our London team on a part-time basis (Sunday and one or two weekday, 9am - 6pm). This role requires someone with a natural flair for client engagement who can also support daily gallery operations and exhibition activities. The ideal candidate is a confident communicator, passionate about contemporary art, and driven to connect visitors with exceptional artworks. They should be strong team players who can also work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet all visitors with warmth and professionalism, fostering an inviting atmosphere that encourages conversation and discovery.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of current exhibitions, artists, and available works to effectively communicate the gallery’s offerings.
  • Support day-to-day operations, including careful handling of artworks during installation and deinstallation.
  • Assist with gallery events such as private views, tours, artist talks, and client receptions.
  • Keep the gallery organised, clean, and presentable at all times.

Required Qualifications & Attributes:

  • A degree in Fine Art and Art History, or a related field is preferred.
  • A passion for art and a confident, outgoing personality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented with a strong sense of initiative.
  • High level of professionalism, organisation, and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a small team.
  • Flexible schedule with ability to work weekends and some evenings.
