Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Medical Device Officer (MDO) to play a vital role in ensuring the safety, efficacy, and proper management of medical devices within healthcare settings. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to patient care excellence by overseeing device operations, supporting clinical research initiatives, and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for advancing healthcare technology and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the lifecycle of medical devices, including installation, calibration, maintenance, and decommissioning
  • Support clinical research projects by coordinating device use, data collection, and compliance with study protocols
  • Assist healthcare professionals with device setup, troubleshooting, and training to optimize patient care delivery
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory standards and hospital policies related to medical device safety and performance
  • Collaborate with biomedical engineering, nursing staff, and physicians to troubleshoot technical issues promptly
  • Maintain detailed documentation of device maintenance, incidents, and operational procedures
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives by analyzing device performance data and recommending enhancements

Requirements

  • Proven experience in clinical research or healthcare technology management
  • ICU experience or familiarity with intensive care environments is highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, patient care protocols, and medication administration procedures
  • Background in public health or related health sciences is advantageous
  • Experience with medical imaging technologies and hospice or home care settings is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills for training staff and documenting technical information accurately
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced healthcare environments
