Full job description

We’re The Ridge Coffee Shop, a cafe situated on the Quay in Exeter. We make everything from scratch on our premises and we are proud about our home made cakes, cinnamon buns, doughnuts and pastries.

We are looking for an experienced pastry chef/baker to join our dedicated pastries and cakes making team in the kitchen.

You will be involved in the whole process such as making dough, pastries preparation, making doughnuts, pastry lamination, cakes baking etc.

This job is not suitable for students or people who have not worked as professional bakers/pastry chefs before.

Having previous experience as a baker is a must!

Must be local to Exeter area.

As it is long term job and we need our staff to be available during busy periods such as Christmas, Easter and half term

We need someone who lives locally to Exeter during the year, hence not suitable for students.

Also because of the early morning starts you must be able to get to work early, hence cannot rely on public transport. (Own transportation recommended, unless local to Exeter)

Also must be willing to start as early as at 4-5 am on the weekends, because most of our baking is done before we open.

Must be able to work solo, because the baker is fully responsible for every days task in the kitchen.

Must be capable working on certain pace, being organised and good at utilising their time and completing all daily tasks.

At the moment we can offer up to 40 hours a week (including weekends) and the job involves making, baking, packaging and helping with all elements of the production of our cakes, pastries, doughnuts amd other baked goods.
