Overview:
Barista — Origin Gymnastics In-House Coffee Shop

Job Summary

Origin Gymnastics is seeking friendly, reliable and customer-focused Baristas to join the team at our new family fitness centre in Newtownbreda.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a busy, welcoming environment that brings together children’s gymnastics, adult fitness, soft play, parties and an in-house café experience. Our café will play an important role in the overall customer journey, giving parents, members and visitors a comfortable space to relax, connect and enjoy high-quality coffee while their children train.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for great customer service, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and take pride in creating a warm and professional experience for every customer. Previous barista or café experience is desirable, but a positive attitude, reliability and willingness to learn are just as important.

Duties

  • Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, drinks and light refreshments
  • Provide a friendly, welcoming and professional service to parents, members, children and visitors
  • Operate the till and handle customer payments accurately
  • Keep the café area clean, organised and well presented throughout the day
  • Maintain excellent hygiene and food safety standards
  • Support stock rotation, restocking and reporting low stock levels
  • Assist with basic food preparation and presentation where required
  • Work closely with the front-of-house team to support a smooth customer experience
  • Help create a relaxed and positive café environment for families and members
  • Support busy periods during class changeovers, parties, camps and events
  • Follow company procedures for cleaning, opening, closing and customer service
  • Represent the Origin brand in a professional and positive manner at all times

Experience

  • Previous barista, café, hospitality or customer service experience
  • Experience using a manual coffee machine (La Marzocco Clasica)
  • A friendly, confident and approachable manner
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to work efficiently during busy periods
  • Reliable, punctual and well organised
  • Willingness to learn and follow company standards
  • Ability to work well as part of a wider team
  • A passion for providing excellent customer service

Pay: From £14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5.0 – 20.0 per week
