Full job description

LTS are seeking compassionate and experienced SEND Tutors to provide personalised support to pupils who are currently out of school in the London Borough of Camden.

This role focuses on both primary and secondary age children with:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Speech, Language and Communication (SLCN) needs
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
  • Behavioural difficulties

You will work with pupils on a one-to-one or small group basis to help them re-engage with learning, build confidence, develop coping strategies, and make progress academically and socially.

Each student requires a different amount of specialised support, from 2 to 20 hours a week, and you are able to teach as much or as little work as you like.

The tuition takes place in either the pupils’ home, a local library or a local education provision and you will be teaching between the hours of 9am and 3pm Monday to Friday each week. It is beneficial to have your own transport as the students may be some distance apart.

You will be paid hourly, between £25 and £35 an hour, on a weekly basis and you will be expected to follow the local school term dates, ideally avoiding taking holiday in term time to enable you to build good relationships with your students and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored teaching and interventions to support learning and development
  • Help pupils with SEND to re-engage with education
  • Implement strategies to support emotional regulation, social skills, and positive behaviour
  • Monitor and report progress to teachers, SENCo's, and parents
  • Work collaboratively with school staff and external professionals to provide consistent support

What You’ll Do:

  • Use your expertise to deliver and adapt lessons tailored to each pupil’s individual learning needs
  • Support pupils with SEND to achieve their academic potential and boost their confidence
  • Create inclusive, supportive learning environments where every pupil feels seen, understood, and capable

What We’re Looking For:

  • Friendly and upbeat tutors who are passionate about helping pupils succeed
  • Reliable and organised teachers who are confident working independently with pupils
  • Tutors who are flexible, innovative, and able to adapt lesson delivery to suit pupils needs
  • Experience supporting a range of SEND, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH and/or behavioural difficulties.
  • Strong subject knowledge in English and Maths (primary and/or functional skills level in both)
  • Experience collaborating with families and other professionals to provide consistent support
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - preferred but not essential

Why Join Us?

  • Make a real difference for pupils who are out of school and need extra support
  • See the direct impact of your work — every single lesson can be transformative
  • Flexible working hours to fit around your schedule
  • Ongoing training, guidance, and access to teaching resources

Ready to Inspire Change?

One student, one lesson, one breakthrough at a time.

If you are interested in this role and have the relevant experience, please email us as soon as possible on j.nasir@ltsg.co.uk.

We would be very keen to arrange an introductory session as soon as we can for you to meet the pupils and take it from there.
