Full job description

Part-Time Cinematographer & Videographer

Millbank is looking for an experienced Cinematographer and Videographer to join our growing creative team on a part-time basis.

We work with ambitious organisations across the public sector, creating films and digital content that help people understand what is changing, why it matters and the difference it will make to their lives.

This is not simply a camera operator role. We are looking for someone who understands storytelling: how to find the human angle, capture genuine emotion and turn an idea into a powerful piece of content.

You will work across a varied mix of projects, from cinematic campaign films and documentary-style stories to interviews, events and fast-moving social content. One day could involve shaping and shooting a carefully planned hero film; the next could mean capturing a story on location and turning it into an engaging reel.

The role

You will:

  • Develop creative treatments and visual approaches for films and campaigns
  • Plan and deliver shoots across a range of locations
  • Capture cinematic footage, interviews, natural sound and social-first content
  • Direct contributors confidently and help people feel comfortable on camera
  • Find compelling stories within sometimes complex or sensitive subjects
  • Work closely with our strategy, content and design teams
  • Edit high-quality films, reels and short-form social content
  • Adapt footage for different platforms, audiences and formats
  • Maintain consistently high creative and technical standards
  • Occasionally travel across the UK to support client projects

About you

You will have:

  • Strong professional experience in cinematography, videography and editing
  • A portfolio demonstrating cinematic storytelling as well as effective social content
  • A confident understanding of composition, lighting, sound and camera movement
  • The ability to tell a complete story, rather than simply capture attractive footage
  • Experience interviewing and directing people from a range of backgrounds
  • Strong editing skills and experience using professional post-production software
  • An understanding of what makes content work across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and YouTube
  • The ability to work independently while contributing fully to a wider creative team
  • Good judgement, attention to detail and the confidence to work in high-profile environments
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel when required

Experience working with councils, government, public services or community organisations would be valuable, but it is not essential. What matters most is your ability to find the story and bring it to life.

About Millbank

Millbank is a specialist digital communications agency helping organisations build trust with the people they serve.

We bring together strategy, content, film, design and digital delivery to produce work that is creative, purposeful and capable of making a real impact. Our team works at pace, often around major announcements, public-facing campaigns and stories that matter to communities.

We are looking for someone who wants to help shape that work—not simply turn up, shoot and leave.

Location and working pattern

This is a part-time role with a flexible working pattern. It will combine remote working with regular filming on location, including work across London, Essex, Cambridgeshire and other parts of the UK.

Some evening or weekend work may occasionally be required, depending on the nature of a project or event.

How to apply

Please send us your CV, a short introduction and a link to your showreel or portfolio.

We are particularly interested in seeing examples that demonstrate strong storytelling, cinematic quality, great editing and grading and social-first creativity.

Pay: £150.00-£205.00 per day

Work Location: In person
