Job Overview

Duties

  • Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including floors, work surfaces, utensils, and equipment to uphold health and safety standards
  • Assist with basic food preparation tasks under the supervision of chefs, such as washing vegetables or preparing ingredients
  • Ensure all dishware, cookware, and utensils are washed, sanitized, and stored correctly for efficient kitchen workflow
  • Support the setup and breakdown of kitchen stations during service periods to facilitate smooth operations
  • Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are followed diligently
  • Restock supplies as needed to ensure kitchen stations are fully equipped for service
  • Follow health and safety regulations consistently to maintain a hygienic working environment

Experience

  • Previous experience working in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for motivated candidates
  • Familiarity with basic food preparation and cleaning procedures within a commercial kitchen environment is advantageous
  • Experience in hotel or culinary environments can be beneficial in understanding high standards of cleanliness and service
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to food handling and hygiene practices is a plus
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to follow instructions accurately in a fast-paced environment
