Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organised Medical Secretary to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills and have experience in general practice. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical practice, providing support to healthcare professionals, and delivering excellent service to patients.

Responsibilities

  • Transcribe medical notes and letters dictated by healthcare professionals.
  • Process referrals to other specialists or healthcare services.
  • Liaise with other medical staff, departments, and external organisations.
  • Handle incoming calls, emails, and correspondence with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality in accordance with data protection regulations.
  • Assist with billing and insurance claims processing as required.
  • Prepare and organise medical documents, reports, and other paperwork for healthcare providers.
  • Coordinate with medical staff to facilitate effective communication and workflow within the practice.

Qualifications

  • Previous office experience is essential; administrative experience within a medical setting is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in using office software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and electronic health record systems.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively.
