Job Description

Post: Medical Receptionist

Responsible for: Reception duties as detailed below at the Balsall Common and Meriden Surgeries. This is not an exhaustive list.

Responsible to: Senior Receptionist and Practice Manager

Introduction:

We are looking for a friendly, professional, and efficient Medical Receptionist to join our practice team. This person needs to possess good communication skills, demonstrate initiative, enthusiasm and be a friendly team player to work alongside our existing Reception Team at both the Balsall Common and Meriden Surgeries.

Balsall Common and Meriden Group Practice offers healthcare to over 12,500 patients based over our 2 sites. The practice consists of 3 GP partners, 5 salaried GP’s, training registrar's and 4 registered nurses, alongside reception and administrative staff.

Our Balsall Common site is a purpose-built health center that also offers services from physiotherapists, chiropodists, health visitors, midwifes and district nurses. The small Meriden site is based in the heart of England in 'The Old School House'.

Main Duties:
Reception –Scheduling appointments and supporting patient enquiries over the telephone and in person. Maintenance of patients’ computer records. Giving out results to patients.

  • Management of patient correspondence received
  • Management of computer tasks and notifications as required
  • Receipt and management of pathology specimens and pathology forms
  • Supporting clinical teams with patient management and enquiries

The post holder will be required to contribute to the provision of holiday and sickness cover for colleagues, it is therefore essential to be flexible regarding hours of work.

Working Hours. 36 hrs per week. To discuss further during interview.

System 1 experience would be desirable.

CONFIDENTIALITY MUST BE MAINTAINED AT ALL TIMES REGARDING PATIENT INFORMATION.
