Job Summary
The Responsible Individual (RI) for the Children's Home plays a crucial role in overseeing the care and support of children within a residential setting. This position involves leading a dedicated team to ensure the well-being and development of each child, implementing care plans, and fostering a safe and nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, experience in childcare, and the ability to communicate effectively with both children and staff. As the most senior figure within the home, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the service is safe, nurturing, and compliant with all relevant regulations.

About the Role

In this pivotal position, you will ensure the highest standards of care and regulatory compliance across homes, leveraging your extensive experience and qualifications. You’ll play a key role in shaping strategic direction, mentoring teams, and maintaining a culture of excellence.

8 hours per week over 1 day (part time initially, to increase depending on demand). This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting and empowering young people, with the flexibility of part-time hours to start and the potential for full-time progression as the role develops.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Strategy: Provide leadership and strategic direction for the management of children’s homes.
  • Compliance: Ensure all homes operate in line with legal requirements, Ofsted regulations, and company policies.
  • Safeguarding: Oversee the welfare and safeguarding of all children in care, fostering a safe and supportive environment.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track performance metrics and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Regulatory Liaison: Build strong relationships with regulatory bodies, ensuring all compliance and quality standards are consistently met.
  • Team Development: Lead, motivate, and support home managers to achieve excellence, while facilitating staff training and development.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven Expertise: Experience as a Registered Manager in a Children’s Residential Home.
  • Qualifications: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Commitment to Excellence: A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Ofsted regulations and child protection standards.
  • Leadership Skills: Exceptional leadership abilities with a proven track record of inspiring and developing teams.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with teams and external stakeholders.
  • Driving License: Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.This role offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of children in need of support while working within a dedicated team committed to providing exceptional care.
