Job Summary

Join our dynamic hospitality team as a Kitchen Porter, where your energy and dedication will keep our kitchen running smoothly and efficiently. In this vital support role, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring all kitchen areas meet the highest standards of hygiene and safety. Your contribution helps create an inviting environment for both staff and guests, supporting the overall success of our restaurant or hotel operation. Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, dishes, and work surfaces to uphold hygiene standards.
  • Assist chefs and kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, or portioning ingredients.
  • Manage waste disposal efficiently and ensure the proper storage of ingredients and supplies.
  • Support the organization of storage areas, including stock rotation and inventory checks.
  • Maintain cleanliness in all kitchen areas, including floors, sinks, and cooking stations, throughout each shift.
  • Help with setting up dining areas or service stations when needed to ensure smooth service flow.
  • Follow health and safety regulations diligently to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques and basic cooking skills are a plus.
  • Strong understanding of kitchen hygiene standards and safety protocols.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting colleagues.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, or holidays as required.
