Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Catering Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role involves supporting the smooth operation of catering services across various settings, including events, hotels, and restaurants. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for hospitality and food service, with a keen eye for detail and excellent guest interaction skills. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your culinary and customer service expertise within a professional environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in food preparation and presentation to ensure high standards of quality and hygiene
  • Serving food and beverages efficiently and courteously to guests or clients
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the catering area, including washing up and sanitising utensils and surfaces
  • Supporting the setup and breakdown of catering events, including arranging tables, chairs, and equipment
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety regulations at all times
  • Providing exceptional guest services by attending to customer needs promptly and professionally
  • Restocking supplies as needed during service periods
  • Assisting with inventory management and stock control

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in hospitality, catering, or restaurant environments is desirable but not essential
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
  • Experience in food preparation or serving roles is advantageous
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Strong communication skills and a friendly demeanour when interacting with guests or clients
  • Ability to work flexibly, including during busy periods or special events
  • A positive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills in a fast-paced setting

Pay: £12.71 per hour
