Job Overview

HCC-Temps Staffing are seeking an experienced and dynamic Bar Manager to oversee the daily operations of our client's busy bar. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and extensive knowledge of food and beverage service. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring exceptional customer experiences, and maintaining high standards. The successful applicant will have a background in restaurant or hotel environments, with a keen eye for detail and excellent organisational abilities. This is an exciting opportunity for someone eager to lead a team and contribute to the success of our establishment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of bar operations, including staff supervision, inventory control, and customer service standards.
  • Supervise and train team members in food production, serving techniques, and hospitality best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety laws and maintain cleanliness standards across the bar area.
  • Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service, fostering a welcoming atmosphere for guests.
  • Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage supplier relationships to ensure availability of ingredients and supplies.
  • Handle customer complaints professionally and resolve issues promptly to maintain high satisfaction levels.
  • Organise staff rotas, oversee shift schedules, and manage team performance through effective leadership.
  • Promote a positive working environment that encourages teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in restaurant or hotel environments with a focus on bar management or supervisory roles.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety regulations.
  • Demonstrable leadership skills with prior supervising experience in hospitality settings.
  • Excellent team management abilities with a focus on training and motivating staff.
  • Familiarity with food production processes, culinary techniques, and serving standards.
  • Experience in managing stock control, ordering supplies, and maintaining inventory accuracy.
  • Knowledge of health & safety regulations relevant to the hospitality industry.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively during busy periods.
  • Previous experience in hospitality roles such as barista or serving staff is advantageous but not essential.
