Full job description

UK Training, a market leader in business training, is seeking a reliable and hard working Administrator to join our friendly team at our Formby office.

This is a temporary position initially to provide maternity cover, with hours varying from week to week according to business needs. We are therefore looking for someone who is flexible and able to adapt to changing workloads and schedules.

While this role primarily involves administrative support, there may be opportunities for the right person to take on additional responsibilities. Should the successful candidate prove to be a strong fit for the business, future permanent opportunities may become available.

Tasks to include, but not limited to:

  • Processing customer orders
  • Sending invoices and joining instructions
  • Responding to email enquiries
  • Answering the telephone in a timely and professional manner
  • Registering delegates and providing support for online training courses
  • Recording course feedback
  • Sending certificates of attendance to delegates
  • Preparing monthly staff rotas
  • Booking presenter hotels
  • Updates to course documentation
  • Proof reading course materials, promotional emails and postal mailings
  • Assisting with email marketing campaigns including updating dates and generating links
  • Supporting the production of mailing materials using Microsoft Word
  • Assisting colleagues with ad-hoc administrative tasks and projects

Requirements and skills

  • Previous experience in an administrative role
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a small team
  • The ability to learn new systems, processes and software quickly
  • A professional, friendly and helpful approach when dealing with customers, delegates and colleagues
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • A strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence communicating by telephone and email
  • Strong IT skills including confident use of Microsoft Outlook and Excel
  • Advanced Microsoft Word skills (preferred)
  • Experience using Dreamweaver at a basic level (desirable but not essential)
  • A willingness to take direction, learn new tasks and support colleagues where required
  • A reliable and dependable approach, with good attendance and punctuality

What we’re looking for

We are looking for someone who is dependable, proactive and keen to contribute. This role would suit a highly organised individual who enjoys varied administrative work and is willing to take on new challenges as opportunities arise.

Please note, it is important that the right candidate is available to work on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays as this is when the majority of hours will fall.

Interviews to take place in October with a likely November start date.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From £14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 6.0 – 18.0 per week
