Job Summary
We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team for part-time summer work at our busy café. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in the hospitality industry, develop customer service skills, and work in a vibrant environment. The position is ideal for students or those looking for flexible summer employment, with shifts primarily during daytime hours. Successful candidates will be responsible for delivering high-quality service to our guests while supporting the daily operations of the café.

Duties

  • Taking orders from customers and serving food and beverages with professionalism and friendliness
  • Preparing simple food items and beverages in accordance with health and safety standards
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the café area, including tables, counters, and kitchen stations
  • Handling cash transactions accurately and operating point-of-sale systems
  • Assisting with stock replenishment and inventory management
  • Upselling menu items to enhance guest experience and maximise sales opportunities
  • Providing excellent guest services by addressing customer needs promptly and courteously
  • Ensuring food safety procedures are followed at all times to maintain hygiene standards

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant environments is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and basic food preparation skills are advantageous
  • Strong organisational skills with good time management abilities
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy periods
  • Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour when engaging with guests
  • Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately
  • Experience in serving, food preparation, or culinary roles is a plus but not mandatory
  • A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and team spirit are essential for success in this role

Pay: £10.00-£12.71 per hour
