Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Cafe Supervisor - someone with solid hands-on experience behind the bar, the confidence to manage a small team, and a genuine passion for café culture. This is a community-rooted, Pan-Asian inspired café offering specialty coffee, bubble tea, matcha, and light bites within a creative, maker-focused venue.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team, ensuring high standards of food and drink quality and safety, and delivering exceptional customer service. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with a passion for hospitality and excellence to lead and inspire a team while maintaining smooth operational flow.

This is a founding role. We are looking for someone who wants to grow with the brand, not just fill a rota.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of café staff.
  • Oversee preparation and processes to ensure quality standards are met consistently.
  • Manage team schedules, delegate tasks efficiently, and motivate staff to deliver outstanding service.
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety regulations and hygiene standards across all areas of the café.
  • Assist in the preparation of drinks and food items, ensuring consistency in presentation and taste.
  • Monitor stock levels, place orders as necessary, and ensure proper storage of ingredients and supplies.
  • Handle customer enquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and ensure a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety policies and procedures at all times.
  • Support the training and development of team members to enhance their skills in serving, and hospitality.

Experience

  • Proven supervising experience within a café, restaurant or hospitality setting.
  • Experience in managing teams effectively within creative environments.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations is essential.
  • Familiarity with food production processes, including barista skills or bar service experience is advantageous.
  • Previous experience working in hospitality environments will be highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities with excellent organisational skills and the ability to motivate others. This role is ideal for a proactive professional passionate about delivering exceptional dining experiences while leading a dedicated team in a vibrant café setting.

Pay: £13.00-£13.50 per hour

Benefits:

  • Discounted or free food
  • Employee discount
