EXPERIENCED WAITING / FRONT-OF-HOUSE STAFF

The Gate Bar & Grill | Sparkbrook, Birmingham

Join the reopening team at The Gate—a family-owned venue with over 20 years of history, undergoing a full refurbishment and renovation.

Our next chapter brings Punjabi mixed grills, Indian food and live entertainment to Birmingham’s historic Balti Triangle.

We are looking for confident, experienced hospitality staff who can deliver warm, efficient service in a busy bar-and-grill environment.

Pay: £12.71 per hour.
Contract: Zero-hours, with shifts offered according to business demand and agreed availability.
Applicants seeking either full-time or part-time hours are welcome; a minimum number of hours is not guaranteed.
Planned reopening: November–December 2026, with paid training before opening.

THE ROLE

  • Welcome and seat guests.
  • Take accurate food and drink orders.
  • Serve food and alcoholic drinks professionally.
  • Process payments and handle customer enquiries.
  • Clear, reset and maintain tables and service areas.
  • Follow allergen procedures and communicate clearly with the kitchen.
  • Support light cleaning and service preparation.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Strong previous restaurant, pub, bar or hospitality experience.
  • Confidence managing tables during busy services.
  • Friendly communication, reliability and teamwork.
  • Evening and weekend availability.
  • Desi pub, Indian restaurant or live-entertainment venue experience is an advantage.

Please include your availability over the Christmas period and your preferred weekly hours.
