Weekend Supervisor – rita

We're looking for a Weekend Supervisor to join our team at rita.

This is a hands-on role for someone who loves hospitality, enjoys leading by example, and wants to be part of a genuinely friendly team.

You'll be responsible for running shifts from Friday to Sunday, with Thursdays spent working alongside our manager to ensure a smooth handover into the weekend.

About us

rita is an independent neighbourhood brunch café serving a premium menu alongside speciality coffee, matcha, smoothies, milkshakes, loose-leaf teas and a carefully curated alcohol menu.

We're a small, close-knit team and we're proud of the atmosphere we've created. We work hard, have a laugh, and genuinely enjoy coming to work. We'd like to keep it that way.

What you'll be doing

  • Running weekend shifts confidently and independently.
  • Supporting, motivating and organising the team throughout service.
  • Working with the manager on Thursdays to prepare for the weekend.
  • Training and developing new members of staff.
  • Maintaining high standards of customer service, food quality and cleanliness.
  • Helping drive the café forward with new ideas, improvements and initiatives.
  • Covering management duties when our manager is on holiday or unavailable.

There may also be the opportunity for an additional weekday evening shift when our evening menu launches, although this isn't essential.

We're looking for someone who...

  • Is a confident, competent barista.
  • Latte art experience would be fantastic, but isn't essential.
  • Can confidently lead a team of young, capable staff.
  • Fits naturally into an existing team rather than trying to change it.
  • Is friendly, enthusiastic and genuinely enjoys looking after customers.
  • Can train and support new team members.
  • Is reliable, organised and happy to take responsibility.
  • Wants to contribute ideas and help us continue improving.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is kind, approachable and enjoyable to work with.
