Overview
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Advanced Mentor to join our Education & Training team. This role involves providing advanced support to students across programmes through one-to-one and small group interventions, cover sessions and non-accredited sessions, and supporting learners with additional needs to achieve their qualifications and progression goals. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop professional skills whilst making a meaningful difference in young people's lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver one-to-one and small group support sessions.
  • Provide advanced educational and pastoral support for learners with additional needs.
  • Prepare and deliver non-accredited and cover sessions when required.
  • Support students in developing confidence, independence, engagement, and positive behaviours.
  • Act as a positive role model and learning mentor for students.
  • Monitor learners’ social, emotional, and physical wellbeing and escalate concerns where appropriate.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Maths and English Grade C or equivalent
  • Safeguarding Certificate(s)

Desirable:

  • First Aid Qualification

Skills

  • Competent in functional skills and ICT
  • Adaptable, creative, calm, caring, and dedicated.
  • Understanding behaviour management strategies is desirable but not essential
  • Knowledge of working with special education needs (SEN) learners aged 16+ is desirable but not essential
