Seasonal Picker & Packer – Dispatch

About the Role

We are looking for Seasonal Pickers & Packers to join our Dispatch team and support us through our busy seasonal period.

This is a fast-paced, hands-on role where you will be responsible for accurately picking customer orders and packing them ready for dispatch.

We process a high volume of online orders, so we're looking for reliable people who can work quickly while maintaining excellent standards of accuracy and presentation.

Previous warehouse or picking and packing experience is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

As a Seasonal Picker & Packer, your duties will include:

• Picking products accurately against customer orders.
• Checking products and quantities before packing.
• Packing customer orders securely and to the required standard.
• Selecting the correct packaging for each order.
• Applying courier labels and other required labels correctly.
• Including gift messages, leaflets or other inserts where required.
• Checking orders for accuracy before they leave your packing station.
• Preparing completed parcels for courier collection.
• Replenishing products and packaging materials at packing stations.
• Keeping your workstation clean, organised and fully stocked.
• Reporting damaged, missing or incorrect products immediately.
• Following stock rotation and product handling procedures.
• Supporting other areas of Dispatch when required.
• Working efficiently to achieve expected productivity levels.
• Following all food safety, Health & Safety and site procedures.

Accuracy Is Essential

Our customers expect to receive exactly what they ordered.

You will be responsible for checking:

• The correct products have been picked.
• The correct quantities are included.
• Products are in suitable condition.
• Any gift messages or additional items are included.
• The correct shipping label is applied.
• The parcel is packed securely for delivery.

You must be able to maintain accuracy while working at pace.

Working at Pace

Dispatch becomes extremely busy during our seasonal peak periods.

You will be expected to work efficiently and contribute towards the department's productivity targets.

Our established Dispatch performance target is 25 completed parcels per hour per packer.

You will receive training and support when you start, and we recognise that new starters need time to learn our products, systems and packing standards before consistently achieving the expected rate.

Quality and accuracy should never be sacrificed simply to hit a target.

Previous experience in warehousing, order fulfilment, ecommerce, picking, packing or dispatch would be beneficial but is not essential.

Full training will be provided.

Physical Requirements

This is an active role which may involve:

• Standing and walking for extended periods.
• Repetitive picking and packing activities.
• Bending and reaching.
• Moving boxes and products.
• Moving stock around the Dispatch area.
• Working at packing benches for extended periods.
• Manual handling.

Appropriate training will be provided.

Seasonal Working

This is a temporary seasonal position designed to provide additional support during one of our busiest periods of the year.

Applicants should therefore be prepared for a busy working environment and increased order volumes during peak periods.

There may be opportunities for some seasonal team members to be considered for longer-term positions depending on business requirements and individual performance, although this cannot be guaranteed.
