Activities Coordinator (Part-Time)
Location: Purley

Beth Ezra is a Christian care home dedicated to providing high-quality care to elderly residents with a range of needs, including dementia and other complex or deteriorating health conditions.

Our mission is to support the overall wellbeing of our residents’ spiritually, emotional, psychological, social, independence and Communication needs

We are currently seeking an innovative, energetic, and enthusiastic Activities Coordinator to join our small residential care home in Purley. This is a varied and rewarding role, ideal for someone who is empathetic, organised, and passionate about enriching the lives of older adults.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging weekly activities tailored to a wide range of abilities, promoting residents’ physical, psychological, and social wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning, organising, printing, and distributing a weekly activities schedule
  • Organising a diverse programme of activities such as pamper days, arts and crafts, hymn singing, and group singalongs
  • Providing one-to-one engagement, including reading, listening, and supporting residents’ personal stories and care plans
  • Creating stimulating and meaningful experiences that enhance residents’ quality of life
  • Thinking on your feet and adapting activities to meet residents’ changing needs
  • Managing competing priorities effectively within a dynamic care environment
  • Working collaboratively as part of a team
  • Liaising with external entertainment providers and agencies (experience in this area is advantageous)
  • Building positive relationships and engaging effectively with residents, families, and visitors

About You:

  • Positive, creative, and able to think outside the box
  • Empathetic, patient, and caring in your approach
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Experience working with older adults (preferably within a care home setting)
  • Confident communicator with the ability to engage a wide range of people
  • Willing to work occasional weekends (to be agreed)
