Job Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Deli Staff to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing a variety of food items, and maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, good organisational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience in a restaurant or kitchen setting is essential. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop culinary skills and gain valuable experience in the food retail industry.

Duties

  • Prepare and assemble a range of deli products, including sandwiches, salads, and cold cuts, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met
  • Serve customers efficiently and courteously at the counter, assisting with their selections and answering any queries
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the deli area, including sanitising surfaces and equipment in accordance with food safety regulations
  • Restock shelves and display units as needed to ensure product availability and visual appeal
  • Operate slicing machines and other kitchen equipment safely and correctly
  • Upsell additional products to maximise sales opportunities while providing excellent customer service
  • Follow all food safety guidelines and procedures to ensure compliance with health regulations
  • Assist in stock management, including receiving deliveries and organising inventory

Skills

  • Experience in food preparation or working within a restaurant environment is essential.
  • Strong understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
  • Basic maths skills for handling transactions and portion control
