Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and friendly Part-time Cashier to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, handling transactions accurately, and supporting the smooth operation of our retail environment. Duties

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases
• Process sales transactions accurately using cash registers and point-of-sale systems
• Handle cash, card payments, and other payment methods securely and efficiently
• Maintain a clean and organised checkout area
• Assist customers with enquiries and direct them to relevant departments when necessary
• Manage stock levels at the checkout counter and report shortages or discrepancies
• Support in daily opening and closing procedures of the cashier station
• Maintain knowledge of current promotions, discounts, and store policies
• Support inventory management by recording sales data using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero

Experience

• Previous experience as a cashier or in retail is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
• Familiarity with accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero is desirable
• Basic understanding of accounts payable processes is a plus
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
