Assistant Chef

Salt & Sage Bistro – Fareham30 hours per week

Salt & Sage Bistro is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Assistant Chef to join our growing kitchen team.

This is a 30-hour per week position, with shifts predominantly in the evenings and at weekends, so flexibility during these times is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the preparation and service of high-quality food.
  • Working alongside the Head Chef to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene.
  • Following food safety procedures and company standards.
  • Supporting with stock rotation and kitchen organisation.
  • Helping deliver excellent service during busy periods.

What we’re looking for

  • Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen is preferred.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable, punctual and a strong team player.
  • Good understanding of food hygiene and safety practices.
