Full job description

We are looking for a flexible and reliable Pharmacy Dispenser or Accuracy Checking Dispenser to join our team on a relief basis across our Liverpool pharmacies (London Road, Belle Vale and Netherley).

This role is ideal for someone who can work across multiple sites, providing cover for sickness and annual leave. We are open to candidates looking for either 3 or 5 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately dispense prescription medications to patients
  • Ensure correct labelling and packaging of medications
  • Work under the supervision of a pharmacist to issue prescriptions and supply over-the-counter medications
  • Prepare prescriptions, including counting, labelling, and assembling medication
  • Support the accuracy checking process (if qualified)
  • Maintain stock levels and manage inventory
  • Provide medication advice and guidance to patients where appropriate
  • Ensure compliance with all pharmacy procedures and regulations
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment
  • Carry out administrative duties and maintain accurate records

Requirements

  • Level 2 NVQ in Pharmacy Services / Dispensing (for Dispenser role)
  • Accuracy Checking qualification (for ACD role)
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy setting
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good understanding of dispensing processes and medication handling
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritise workload
  • Competent IT skills for prescription processing

Additional Information

  • Flexibility is essential — you must be able to work across all three locations: London Road, Belle Vale and Netherley
  • Part-time applicants (approx. 24 hours / 3 full days) are welcome — working patterns can be discussed at interview
  • Full-time applications will be 40 hours per week / 5 full days
  • Experience working in a busy pharmacy environment is highly desirable
