We are currently recruiting for an experienced and committed Day Charge Nurse to join our team at Bearehill Care Home in Brechin.

Bearehill Care Home provides care for people with residential or nursing support needs in a homely environment. Our focus is on creating a home-from- home for our residents, offering great accommodation and individualised care in beautiful surroundings.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated Registered Nurse with proven skills. You will be required to use your skills and knowledge to work well within a team, adopting a flexible and collaborative approach at all times.

The successful candidate must be motivated to offer the highest standards of care and able to undertake all appropriate aspects of nursing care required, Responsibilities will include assessing, care planning, implementing and evaluating care for specified residents to ensure continuity of care and to take management responsibility for a shift, Applicants will be qualified RGN/RMN's and will have a genuine interest in working with the elderly.

Purpose of position: To provide high quality nursing care and to assist in the management of a busy home environment fully supporting the Clinical Lead and Manager in maintaining and improving clinical standards.

Principal Responsibilities: To provide a high standard of direct nursing care to service users, based on the assessment of care needs and in consultation with the service users, their relatives and the care team, To manage the direct care team and support Senior Care Staff in charge of the residential Units within the home whilst on duty, To continuously evaluate the quality of care given, and regularly reassess the needs of service users in consultation with the service users, their relatives and the care team, and to effect change required to achieve planned goals, To administer and order medicines, Liasing with GP, chiropodist, occupational therapist, physiotherapist and other members of the wider care team, Care planning and implementation of care plans, To work within the NMC codes of conduct and Scope of Practice and within the home's policies and procedures, To continuously review their own nursing practices to develop new skills and knowledge through continuous professional development training that contribute to the enhancement of nursing care skills, To work closely with other members of the care team, ensuring that effective, high-quality care is given, to achieve planned goals, To ensure the effective and efficient use of all home resources, To keep next of kin informed of significant changes in a service user's condition, To ensure religious, cultural, emotional and psychological support for service users and their families, To attend and participate in relevant staff meetings.

Person Specification — Essential Criteria: General nurse training and general nurse registration, Self and team motivated, Organised, Flexible, Sensitive to the needs of others but able to implement action plans to address identified needs, Able to work within concepts and broad boundaries, Good knowledge and understanding of nursing roles and professional boundaries, Active team player but also able to work on own initiative, excellent communicator.

Full/part Time Day Duty Posts Available.

All appointments subject to two satisfactory references and completion of PVG scheme membership.
