Overview
We are looking for an experienced Payroll assistant with experience of using Sage and also Employment Hero payroll systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely salary payments, and maintaining compliance with relevant legislation. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in payroll systems. The role will be initially for a fixed 3 month contract, then reviewed monthly after that. The hours will be 20 hours per week, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 10am till 3pm. The position is based in The Yard Bar in Newcastle, Newcastle's oldest and friendliest gay bar..

Duties

  • Process employee salaries and wages using payroll software such as Sage and Employment Hero.
  • Ensure all payroll transactions are accurate by performing meticulous data entry and verification.
  • Manage accounts payable related to payroll, including deductions, taxes, and benefits contributions.
  • Reconcile payroll reports and prepare analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities.
  • Prepare Rotas on Employment Hero Payroll system
  • Maintain up-to-date employee records, including tax information, benefits enrolment, and leave balances.
  • Generate detailed payroll reports for management review and audit purposes.
  • Assist with ad hoc payroll-related tasks as required.
  • Office Management and Administration duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in payroll administration or related HR functions.
  • Proficiency in payroll software (Sage and Employment Hero)
  • Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Analytical skills to interpret data and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Understanding of human resources principles and employment legislation is desirable. This position is ideal for candidates who are organised, analytical, and committed to maintaining high standards of accuracy in payroll processing.

Pay: £15.00 per hour
